Essential 5 steps of building or buying a new home.

While the actual process is somewhat complex, you’ll have your Shaw Homes personal builder, your lender, and possibly your realtor to help you with financing, construction, and closing. To introduce you to the process, here are the essential 5 steps of building or buying a new home.

Step 1. Choosing a New Neighborhood & Home

Shaw Homes specializes in building homes for Oklahoma families. We have the experience of building hundreds of homes in the places where you want to live. We’ll help you choose the right neighborhood and home model for you, and help you make the modifications necessary to personalize the home to your tastes and lifestyle. We’ll also help you choose a lot in the community that’s right for the home you want to build, and that provides the levels of privacy and access you desire.

Step 2. Financing

Determine how much you can borrow and how much you can use for your down payment. Interest rates, types of mortgages, and number of years to repay all have to be determined. And don’t forget closing costs.

Step 3. Insurance

A homeowner insurance policy will be required before closing to help protect your investment. Your realtor or lender can help you choose a insurer.
